October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. There’s a greater sense of activism. Numerous beauty, fashion and accessory brands have started to release products supporting charities that fund breast cancer screenings, education and treatment. It’s even more rewarding to know exactly how much each brand donates to these causes and which charity your purchase directly benefits.
Each of these products — which include a reparative cream, an Allure Best of Beauty-winning straightener and an intoxicating perfume line — have been pledged by the companies to donate a certain amount of their purchase price to selected breast-cancer charities. Some brands even created limited-edition products to promote the altruistic theme for this month. This makes it all the more compelling to support them.
You can pick up one, two, or ten of these charity picks. This is a great way for you to support the cause and look great.
Estee Lauder’s most popular Advanced Night Repair Serum has been reformulated with a pink sleeve in October. However, its charitable contributions go beyond Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) will donate 20% of your purchase price, up to $261,000, until June 30, 2023 or until stocks run out.
Bumble and Bumble’s Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer is a stylist favorite. It reduces frizz and softens dry, fragile hair. We wouldn’t be surprised to see this product as a regular part of your hair-care routine. In the event that you need to refill, 20% of proceeds will be donated to BCRF (up to $20,000). The limited-edition pink bottle can be purchased online or at participating Bumble and Bumble shops until June 30, 2022, or while supplies last.
Although we all know La Mer’s Creme de la Mer Moisturizing Cream is an investment, now is the best time to make a purchase of this luxurious, rich, and dryness-healing product. BCRF will donate 10 percent (up to $100,000) of the jar during October, or while stocks last.
The Breast Friend Self Exam Butter was born out of Colleen Rothschild, the founder of Breast Friend. She had to find a lump during a self-exam and this butter made it easier. The luxuriously whipped pink butter is made with murumuru and shea butters as well as five oils (including coconut and jojoba) to create a slip-and-slide texture which can help you spot unusual lumps or bumps. This butter is readily available throughout the year, but Colleen Rothschild Beauty will donate 100 percent of its proceeds to The Pink Fund in October.
Jo Malone London will donate 50 percent of the Peony & Blush Suede Cologne purchase price until June 30, 2022 (up to $60,000). It will be donated to BCRF so there is plenty of time to shop. You can also pick it up as a holiday gift to a friend or family member.
Pink Ribbon Edition upgrades will be made to the original Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream in a jumbo size of 75 milliliters. The purchase price, which can be up to $10,000, will be donated to BCRF until June 30, 2023. We believe Dr. Jart+ will achieve its goal sooner than expected. So if you want to protect your skin and help charity, make sure to get a ceramide-spiked lotion. Win-win.
Joey Healy will donate $10 from every Brow Renovation Serum sale to BCRF for the sixth consecutive year to help find a cure. The formula contains vitamins A, B5, C and E that condition and strengthen the brows.
The Beachwaver Co. will give back 100 percent of its Polynesian Pink Sugar Fragrance profits to the Young Survival Coalition. This sweet scent reminds us of a candy shop — it’s fun, youthful, and fruity.
The pair of perfect baby-pink glosses, which will be available until June 2022, or while stocks last, will support breast cancer research through BCRF. Bobbi Brown will donate 100% of the purchase price of this product up to $110,000. Proudly Pink includes two shades: Bellini, which is a true pink, and Free Spirt, which is a sheer coral-toned rose.
Lele Sadoughi will donate 10 percent of the proceeds of the pink, bedazzled and knotted Pink For a Purpose headband to the BCRF in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These headbands are everywhere on Instagram. Now is the time to get one for yourself, or for a friend who just can’t stop admiring them.
The Elemis Limited Edition Pro-Collagen Marine Cream will firm and deeply hydrate the skin. This lightweight formula is great for under makeup. The best part? It will donate at least $25,000 to The Pink Agenda, regardless of how many sales it has.
Color Street’s Power of Pink Nail Strips can be used as an instant breast cancer awareness manicure. The brand’s charitable branch, the Color Street Foundation donates $200,000 to several partners, including Living Beyond Breast Cancer and the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Clinique’s moisturizing and soothing formula includes glycerine and sodium hyaluronate. The limited-edition lotion Great Skin, Great Cause Moisture Surge is packaged in pink and raises money for the BCRF. From September through June, $10 of every purchase will be donated (upto $490,000.)
Origins Ginger Souffle Whipped Body Cream keeps you moisturized, but warm and fuzzy. The ginger scent is ideal for winter, and this is due to its warming properties. Origins pledged 100 percent of all proceeds from this product, starting September 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2023 to BCRF.
GHD’s hot tools are hard to find beauty editors who don’t love the Platinum Styler, which is Best of Beauty’s winner. GHD is donating $10 for each limited-edition pink styling tool purchased this year to The Pink Agenda.
We all love the Sigma Beauty Blush because of its intense pigmentation, but we also love that Sigma has multiple products that promote support and awareness. The brand donated 20 percent of the proceeds for The Pink Fund.
Jane Iredale has pledged to donate 100 percent of the Limited Edition Balmy Glow Time Blush stick profits to Look Good Feel Better. This blush comes in a creamy berry flush and is blendable.
Erno Laszlo is committed to BCA Month beyond October. The Pink Agenda has partnered with the brand to raise $250,000 in the next year. All proceeds from the Hydra Therapy Memory Gel Sleep Mask will be donated by the brand.
