Dyson Airwrap Dupes can create salon-worthy, smooth hair with one tool. The best part is that they don’t cost as much as the original all-in one superstyler.

The Dyson Airwrap will be reviewed for its many attachments and quiet motor. Dyson’s Coanda effect technology creates a spinning vortex instead of using heat to set the hair. This revolutionary tool has revolutionized the way we think about styling our hair. However, such revolutionary technology has a high RRP ($600). Thankfully, major brands like Revlon and Remington have introduced Airwrap alternatives that are less expensive than the $120. Some styling tools, like the Dyson, can dry hair and style hair, so you don’t have to spend a lot on the best hair dryer. Ker-ching!

However, even the most expensive Dyson Airwrap products can’t duplicate the Coanda effect. These hot brush tools instead use tension, hot, cold, and sometimes rotating barrels to create impressive volume and styles. «These products are so simple to achieve a faux-blow look at home and can be used to rival professional blow-dry techniques to create salon-worthy results,» Syd Hayes, BaByliss ambassador. He says that these tools are suitable for all hair types and textures. «I have noticed the positive effect of the technology on thicker, frizzy textures too.»

I tried many different Airwrap tools over several weeks to create a definitive list. I washed and styled my hair using all the attachments included in each kit. To see how they worked on my curlier, curlier hair, I tried a few on my daughter.

During testing, I evaluated how the tools felt in my hand, the heat and speed settings, ease of switching attachments and technical specifications like weight and warranty. I evaluated the ability of each tool to curl, smoothen, or volumize my hair. And, of course, cost was a major consideration.

THE BEST DYSON AIRWRAP DUPES

1. SHARK FLEXSTYLE HAIR STYLING AND HAIR DRYING SYSTEM
Dyson’s best Airwrap duplicate

You’ll be as excited if you’ve used the Shark hair dryer as we were to give it a try. The Coanda effect is Dyson’s hair-wrapping airflow technology, and it is the only tool that uses this Coanda effect. This dupe also boasts the most attachments we have ever tried, five in total, one less than the pioneering Dyson. It’s not surprising that this Dyson Airwrap dupe is the most expensive (although it’s still $200 less than the Dyson benchmark).

I am fortunate enough to have a first-generation Airwrap, and I have used it regularly for years. So I was curious to see how the Shark performed. This styler is very similar to Dyson’s. It would be like comparing supermarket Malties with Shreddies. This styler is identical in every way, from the design and feel to the attachments, heat, and speed settings to the styling tools, it’s clear that they were designed for each other.

Keeping in mind the theme of similarities, I discovered that the Shark was the best way to use my Airwrap. It’s all there, from a smooth blow dry using the oval brush to beachy waves using the auto-wrap curlers. Although it takes some practice, Dyson Airwrap is easy to use. Styles were easy to make and last a long time. This is a problem I have with Airwrap, which I find much faster than my curling iron.

Now, let’s talk about the differences. First, the Shark is heavier. It’s not in a way that will annoy or bother you. I just noticed this when I was holding them both simultaneously. In terms of materials and unboxing, it’s more traditional than a traditional hair-tool. Dyson has really mastered the Apple-like trick that makes tech look sexy. Although the Shark is quite attractive, it lacks that phwoar effect of pulling an Aiwrap from its gorgeous leather case. The cold shot is a bit slower, but it’s not too loud. These are the upgrades that you can get for an additional $300. You won’t find anything closer to Dyson Airwrap than this.

2. HOT TOOLS VOLUMISER 2-IN-1 BRUSH & DRYER SET
Airwrap Dupe for thick hair

Hot Tools Volumiser Set is a great choice for me. I have never been able to do a good at-home bouncy hairstyle. This is not the lightest of our tools. It’s noticeably heavier than the Dyson Airwrap, and it is much noisier.

It takes some practice to achieve the perfect curl and volume with the Airwrap, as Dyson fans will admit. The Hot Tools Volumiser can be used with complete confidence. My hair glided through the titanium plate and charcoal-activated bristles without becoming tangled.

There are two sizes of oval volumizing attachments: a larger version with three heat settings, and one that is smaller. The smaller attachment might not be suitable for short hair. The 71mm and the 61mm heads are not very different. When blow drying my hair, I like movement. I would ask a stylist to do this. However, even the smaller attachment couldn’t create bends in my long hair. However, it did create a smooth and frizz-free finish in a short time. In just 10 minutes, my hair was dry and ready to be polished. This is a very fast time. It usually takes me about an hour to blow-dry my hair with a hairdryer. It was also able to maintain a style that was very durable. My daughter has curly hair. Her curls are difficult to manage and her hair is full of springy tendrils by the morning. After using this in the evening she woke up with hair that was smooth and bouncy. She is a huge fan.

The 3m salon-length, flexible cable is also a smart choice. It swivels to avoid tangles and it’s 3m in length. The rubbery tip on the cool end is generous, so you can maintain good tension without worrying about your fingers touching the hot vents. This is not a Dyson Airwrap like the Revlon One-Step Volumiser and Beauty Works Hot Brush. The attachments are made for volume and not curls. This Dyson Airwrap alternative could work for you if speed drying is your priority, particularly if your hair has long, thick and frizzy ends.

3. BEAUTY WORKS HOT BRUSH
This is the best Airwrap product to straighten fine hair

Beauty Works Speed Styler works more like a hot toothbrush, but it doesn’t have any attachments. It smoothes out kinks and frizz. It could be compared to the Dyson Airwrap Firm Smoothing brushhead.

The Speed Styler cannot be used on wet hair, unlike Dyson Airwrap. You’ll need to either let your hair air dry naturally, or blow dry it using a hairdryer. This takes some time. It is an excellent tool for smoothing second-day hair. It feels less damaging in some ways.

It is heavier than many Dyson dupes and was even heavier than my top ghd straighteners. It was the only Dyson tool with a digital temperature display. This was great because you can adjust the temperature to suit your hair type. For example, it is cooler for thin hair and hotter for thicker hair. The heat takes a while to warm up so this is not the best tool for those who need to manage their hair quickly before going to work. It took two minutes to heat up to 180oC, which is the recommended setting. Despite the large paddle brush’s design, it was easier to use this in smaller sections. The brush was able to straighten and smoothen my hair very well and make it more reflective. The effect was more natural than the poker-straight, Kardashian-liquid-smooth result I’d get from my straighteners.

It features a curving design and ionic-coated bristles which help to detangle hair as you style. The brush was able to manage my thick, coarse hair, but it did struggle with some of my hair. Many people raved about how it managed to manage fine, flyaway hair, and they gave 5 stars out of five.

4. BABYLISS AIR TYLE 1000
Airwrap Dupe at the Best Value

This box contains four attachments, making it one of the most comparable to the Dyson Airwrap. It’s also a great value option. The downside? The Babyliss Airstyle doesn’t duplicate the Coanda effect — unlike the Airwrap which wraps the hair around a curling barrel, the Babyliss Airstyle is a traditional blow dryer. You have to wrap your hair around the barrel. It can be difficult to control the direction of the curls, especially if you need to do so far away from your face. I was able to master the technique by the end of the styling session. The curls were much more manageable than if you used a tong. It was notoriously difficult to style my hair because it is heavy and not easy to manage.

Babyliss recommends that hair be at least 80 percent dry before styling. Although it takes longer than an all-in-one styler like the Revlon One-Step Volumiser Set or the Hot Tools Volumiser Set which style hair from wet, the styling tool comes with a drying brush so you can take your hair from damp to silky smooth. The attachments slide easily into the base. Although the paddle brush-style smoothing tool didn’t achieve the desired result, it did help to get my hair in a better place to use the conical curling iron. The styling attachments can get very hot so the heat-proof glove was great for switching between heads quickly and without burning my hands. Babyliss Big Hair is a favorite of mine. It has been recommended to me so many times that I think I should be on commission. This set’s volumizing barrel didn’t have quite the same power. It could be that you need to do the rotation yourself. This was a problem for me with my long hair. Maybe it’s the size. It measures 50mm in length, so it isn’t suitable for smoothing bangs or shorter hair.

Overall, I found this to be a great value for money. It is lightweight and easy to use. Syd Hayes recommends it often. Hayes explains that XXL hair is a trend we see on red carpets and backstage, and can be easily created with this multi-purpose tool. This styler is great for those who blow-dry frequently. You don’t need to use a hairdryer and a brush. This styler does all the work and delivers the perfect result.

Searches for root lift are up 79% and «volume» is up 30% in the UK.

5. GHD RISE HOT BRUSH
Airwrap root lift dupe

The ghd rise heats up more like a traditional curling tool than a blow-dryer, unlike the Dyson Airwrap and many of its counterparts. It can only be used with dry hair. You’ll need to get out your hairdryer before you start using the Rise. This tool can be used in many ways and requires practice. The easiest way to do a root lift was probably the most straightforward. Hold a small portion of hair close to the roots around the barrel for five seconds, then let go. The X Factor years made me feel like Cheryl Cole. The Rise should be treated as a best heated roller, with the ends touching the roots. This will give it body and bounce. It didn’t seem like it did much for my hair. I attribute this to its sheer length and thickness. Curls are the most difficult to master. To achieve curls, you need to slide the barrel down the hair and then roll it up towards your root. Hold the roller and unwind. This is all possible thanks to ghd’s great tutorials online.

The Rise, like all ghd products emits a slight beep when it reaches the optimum temperature. This happens in just 15 seconds. There are no settings, you just get what you get. The optimum styling temperature is 185oC. This is maintained throughout styling with the 32mm barrel. The nylon bristles measure 5mm in depth. This allows you to reach the roots without hair becoming tangled. The Rise can be used on long hair, and I have seen some incredible ‘after’ photos. This didn’t happen to me. However, I believe it would work well for medium or short hairstyles that need to add some oomph fast.
