I tried many pairs of Cult Designer Shoes — These 4 Shoes Are Well Worth It

I spend many hours per week searching for the best online fashion stores and make most of my fashion purchases online as a digital fashion editor. Despite this, I still love some pieces that I can try on in person before making an investment. It’s easier to try shoes on in person to check the fit, comfort, size, and style. I went to Los Angeles to visit some of my favorite stores to test out some of the designer styles I was considering.

I have been focusing my attention on some of the major trends and cult designers that have been in fashion this year and the rest of the year. I tried 15 styles, ranging from boots to loafers to heels. Although some styles didn’t live up the hype, I did narrow down my selection to four that I would recommend. Below are the coolest designer shoes from Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta that I believe are worth the investment.

Saint Laurent Crystal Shoes

Saint Laurent’s netted-clear shoes aren’t new this season. They’ve been around since last season, but I am just as excited about them today as when they were first released in 2021. As we head into the holidays, I have been looking at some of the most stunning party shoes on the market. But Saint Laurent’s glittering heels are still my top choice. I was excited to see them in person, and I am pleased to report that they look just as amazing. They are not tall enough to wear for long nights, but they were much easier to walk in than I expected.

Styling Notes: These heels are great to wear with a simple slip dress or dress for a fun, but elegant look.

Bottega Veneta Wedge Boots

The shoe silhouette of the wedge is a very hot one. I have resisted wedges in the past, but I was pleasantly surprised by the new directional styles that were available in the last year. Bottega Veneta is the style that I have been most thinking about and I am eager to test this pair of wedge boots. Booties can sometimes be difficult because they may be too tight or too loose around your ankles. These boots are perfect. These are a great alternative to traditional ankle boots and have been officially added to my must-buy list.

Styling Notes: I wouldn’t pair these ankle boots with a midi dress. I would rather pair them with a tailored pantuit.

Balenciaga Cagole Heels

Balenciaga’s Cagole shoes and bags have been dubbed the «it accessories» of 2022. The open-toe sandals are equally popular, despite being the most talked about styles. They are very comfortable, and I have to say that they feel great when I put them on. They are three inches high, but still easy to walk in.

Styling Notes: These shoes look great with jeans.

Saint Laurent Blade Heels

Saint Laurent’s Blade heels are a favorite of mine from an older generation. I was curious to see the updated versions of the brand’s Blade heels. This elegant faux-croc pair is my favorite. It has gold hardware. They are both perfect in shape, and I can see a million different outfits for them. These are the next addition to my wardrobe.

Styling Notes : These are great with everything, from casual trousers to a fitted winter coat to a long maxi skirt.
