6 TV Shows and Movies Like Emily In Paris

It feels like we are just getting season three and we are already looking for more shows like Emily from Paris. You’re telling me that you have been waiting for a year to see what happens between Emily (Lily Collins), Gabriel, and Camille (Camille Razat). And you haven’t yet binged the whole thing.

With season three under your belt, how can you hold yourself over while you wait for the repercussions from that cliffhanger? Warning: Spoilers ahead. Even creator Darren Star isn’t sure what will happen next, with Camille and Gabriel having broken up. Star said that there are «definitely some ideas» for season 4. It «sort of turned over the ship somewhat, in terms of characters and relationships.»

The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

Evidently, The Devil Wears Prada was printed so Emily could travel around France in a red vest. Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), is basically Emily Cooper’s less sunny counterpart. She chose to work in New York’s fashion scene rather than a glamorous French agency. Andy is now a Runway editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Steep), which is more intimidating than Sylvie (Philippine Leroy–Beaulieu).

Younger (2015-2021)

Darren Star, the creator of Emily in Paris, has a unique style that is cotton-candy and never fails to entertain. After watching Emily in Paris, you should check out Younger on his TV Land series. Sutton Foster played Liza Miller in the TV Land series for seven seasons. She was a 40-year old woman who pretends to be in her 20s and gets a job in New York City as a publishing assistant. This lie eventually bleeds into her personal (i.e. sex) life.

If the friendship between Emily (Ashley Park), and Mindy Chen is what you love most about Emily in Paris, this is the show for you. Hilary Duff plays Kelsey, Liza’s coworker and greatest champion.

Sex and the City (1998-04)

Darren Star is also the creator and host of Sex and the City on HBO…ever heard of it?! It lasted six seasons, and it spawned two movies and a prequel series. A newly revived revival can also be streamed on HBO. No big deal.

Sex and the City is a column that follows Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), who is a columnist who documents the trials and tribulations associated with dating in New York City. It is based on the sex lives Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte York, (Kristin Davis), and Miranda Hobbes, (Cynthia Nixon).

Carrie Bradshaw’s closet might be the most coveted on TV, and it may even rival Emily Cooper’s. This makes sense considering that both series have Patricia Field, a legendary costume designer.

The Carrie Diaries (2013-2014)

The Carrie Diaries was a Sex and the City prequel. It followed an older Carrie Bradshaw (AnnaSophia Robb), as she navigated friendship and relationship dramas in high school. Although Emily Cooper is younger than SATC Carrie, her rose-colored optimism matches that of the main character in this series’ two-season.

Star is not involved in the HBO Max remake of Sex and the City, nor are Field and Cattrall. But you can’t go wrong with completing the hat trick! The Just Like That… series follows Miranda, Carrie, and Charlotte as they discover new friendships and sex positions for their 50s. You will decide if it captures the heart and soul of Star.
