The «Gossip girl» cast about Beauty Secrets and Self-Care for Season Two

What happens when alcohol, social media and Upper West Side privilege are combined? The second season of Gossip Girl is here. Joshua Safran, who was a writer and executive producer for the original Gossip Girl series, created HBO Max. The show follows Julien Calloway (Jordan Alexander), and Zoya Lotst (Whitney Peak) through their new sisterhood and friendship. They meet love, drama, sex and drugs along with their friends Shan (Grace Duah), Monet, Savannah Lee Smith, Luna (Zion Moreno), as well as Obi (Eli Brown).

New episodes began to roll out on December 1st. Fans (including myself) are eager for GG to share her next set of game-changing secrets with the New York City students she hates. We spoke with Constance Billard St. Judes students to discuss their beauty and skincare secrets, their relationships to their characters, as well as their favorite moments on set. Savannah Lee Smith

What would you say about your character’s style and beauty aesthetic? How has it changed from season one to the second?

Monet is trying her best to appear as powerful as she can in this season. Monet is a bit more dressed up and trying to stand out.

Which are your top-selling beauty products?

The Got2Be Glued Blasting Freeze hair spray ($6) is a must-have for me. I have many wigs, both on TV and in real life. The mini version is always with me. Chapstick and Ghostbond Hair Replacement Adhesive ($20 each) are also indispensable.

What is the best beauty tip you have learned during filming?

I was shocked to discover that I did not know how to properly curl my hair with a curling iron. I just went in and did it. The head of the hair department Michael Zambrano was curling my hair once and I was confused. This is how you do it!

How can you take care of yourself while filming?

Music is my companion on the road to work and home. Music helps me return to my real life for a second.

Meet Zion Moreno

What would you say about your character’s style and beauty aesthetic? How has it changed from season one to the second?

Luna is more concerned about helping her clients shine than she is herself. Because she is serious about business, Luna wore a lot of business suits to school this season. In terms of her nightlife style, she has changed. It was a pleasure to capture her sexuality.

Which are your top-selling beauty products?

Roxanne Rizzo’s Bronze Glow was a favorite of my hair and makeup staff. You look a little more golden with it. It was a bit too much towards the end, but it is something I cannot live without. It’s amazing.

What is the best beauty tip you have learned during filming?

It was a huge milestone for me to learn how to apply individual false lashes. It was fun.

What can you do to practice self-care while filming?

Music is also my safe haven. It is a must. I try to get as much sleep as I can because I am cranky if it isn’t enough.

Whitney Peak

What would you say about your character’s style and beauty aesthetic? How has it changed from season one to the second?

Zoya has definitely become more experimental, I believe.

Which are your top-selling beauty products?

It doesn’t matter if it’s counted, but I will say perfume.

What is your similarity to your character? What makes you unique?

I felt very connected with Zoya in the first season. I have grown a lot from the fashion sense that we shared. However, we share the same values and musical taste.

What can you do to practice self-care while filming?

Music, reading, and simply tuning out. Because we have such a great group of people on the set, it is easy to keep each other’s spirits up for most of the time.

Meet Eli Brown

What would you say about your character’s style and beauty aesthetic? How has it changed from season one to the second?

Obi is wearing the exact same clothes.

Which are your top-selling beauty products?

It’s up to the makeup artists. I have no idea what they are putting on my face.

What was your most memorable moment on set while filming season 2?

The New York Public Library scene. It was quite brutal to be on set for twelve hours. It was still great to be up late with everyone. There is always a good time.

Grace Duah

What would you say about your character’s style and beauty aesthetic? How has it changed from season one to two?

Shan is exploring more the lines between her feminine and masculine looks.

Which are your top-selling beauty products?

Because you never know when you might need concealer, I keep one in my back pocket.

What is your similarity to your character? What makes you unique?

Some of the things Shan does, I find a bit too anxious. She is very open-minded. Baby, my anxiety is not like that. That is not what we are going to do. We will think it through. In fact, we’ll overthink it.

What can you do to practice self-care while filming?

«Leave it at home, but allow yourself to take it when you return.» I want to be able to take whatever emotions I have when I get home. My roommate and my family are my support system. I feel free to be myself when I return home.

What was your most memorable moment on set while filming season 2?

My favorite memory was the time Whitney and I shot this scene in a warehouse. The whole day was an adventure. We’re always going to have a good time laughing, even if it’s just her. The day was full of laughs.
