My motto when shopping for jewelry, clothing, or accessories is to go with the things that bring you joy and excitement. While it is true that some people feel these feelings immediately, others may need to take time and guidance in order to find the most authentic. If you are looking for inspiration, it is a good place to start. You can then browse the available selections and decide which one sparks your interest.
Recently, I set out to find out which jewelry trends are gaining popularity and which have fallen off the radar. I spoke with eight top jewelry brands and designers from Los Angeles, New York City, Paris to get firsthand information. Scroll down to read the opinions of each designer and shop a stunning selection of rings, bracelets and necklaces.
It had a moment five years ago, but it is hard to sell these days.
I have been having a lot fun creating new tennis bracelets. I have been wearing two of them on repeat, along with classic gold bangles. They jangle beautifully together, and I love the way the tennis bracelets feel slinky and slither.
I believe anything too trendy or fashionable for one season is out of fashion.
People are searching for durable, long-lasting items. The most popular jewelry today must be bold and significant. You don’t want a boring, generic design. People want to express themselves and to be part of something. They will look for something with a story, signature, or beautiful craftsmanship.
We believe that there are no rules in jewelry. It is an individual choice. We are starting to see costume pieces disappear in favor of pieces that you can wear for as long as you like. It’s not about fashion trends, but timeless style.
We’ve seen a 40% increase of personalization over the past year. This tells us that customers are creating milestones with their pieces.
Anyone who feels the need to layer more than one or two pieces of statement clothing.
Statement jewelry, bold pieces that are heavy and prominent. You will feel very unique and special when you choose to focus your attention on solid gold 18k chain and customized photo locksets with hard stones such as Nephrite Jade or Lapis Lazuli. We like the fact that so many of our pieces can be customized.
Gaudy jewelry doesn’t suit the current mood. People don’t want to see people showing off in difficult times. Silver has been replaced by gold, which was not the case just a few years ago.
Modernist pieces that have smooth edges and feel fluid are in fashion. This is why our BBA line has been so popular. Because of the impact the pandemic had on small businesses, pieces where you can see the hands of the artisans are very special. We think silver will be losing its shine this year, and gold is definitely taking the spotlight.
We believe jewelry has a longer life span than fashion pieces such as clothes and shoes. In that sense, it is never obsolete. There are certain trends we noticed 5-10 years ago, where jewelry was more geometrically and sharply designed.
As of now, the trend for ‘crazy clothing’ is beginning to fade, which means that more ‘exciting jewelry pieces can shine a lot more’. We believe 2022 will bring back the visual concept of «more is more» when it comes styling jewelry. It is encouraged to mix old and new. New generations are open to wearing new materials and colors as long as they can make a statement and express their individuality. We believe that bringing new life and style to old jewelry will never be out of fashion.
Very delicate pave stacked jewelry is available for me. It has been around for quite some time. Although once a staple, I feel that this trend lacks personality and character. Your jewelry should reflect your personality!
Antique diamonds and colored stones in high-carat gold are my favorite. The combination is so soulful. It has an heirloom quality that I have been setting up for clients in 18K, 20K or 22K gold. It will last for generations, as you can see. It’s the opposite of a trend!
Anything that is uncomfortable or contrived to me feels out of place. Anything that is too slick, too matched-up. Anything that is too difficult.
I believe jewelry can be a way to make one feel at home. A collection of small, individual pieces that are grouped together to form a whole. While a couch, a chair and a rug are important, books, art, and flowers are what we use to sign our names. It’s our signature. It’s personal. Personal is something I love.
